Odisha government changed the date of Panchayati Raj divas.First it was celebrated on 24april.But after BJD 's power the same date was changed to 5 March.

The same 5th March is the birthday of patriot Biju Patnaik.Then the same date had considered as Panchyatiraj Divas.BJD government had made the same day as government holiday.

Now BJP's cabinet has changed the Panchyatiraj Divas from 5th March to April 24.Now Panchyatiraj Divas will be celebrated on 24th April.

But government has said the 5th March will be memorable for Patriot Biju Patnaik which is his birthday.
